Changes with the seasons.
We had a wonderful intern this summer, Amy Hammons, a Sr. at Bob Jones University. She was a valuable addition to the team and helped in many ways. She also learned what it is like to be in the trenches recruiting vs. running an ad on a job board. She’s back in school but has an offer to start in Management in December. She will be a winner wherever she goes.
We also finished the summer up with thank you notes from several clients and Student Interns from Furman, Bob Jones and Clemson. We are glad to help out and if you are willing to have an intern, let us know what you need and we’ll try and connect you.
We announced the addition of Tom and Chris in the last letter. Here’s a brief update: they are both doing great! There are outstanding additions to the team.
The outlook for the fall is promising. We are conducting retained searches for two individual CEO’s and a VP of Engineering as well as many mid level positions. Our client base has expanded and both profits and cash flow within our client base is looking much better than in 2009. We expect business to continue to increase throughout the fall. We’ll know in December what budgets look like for 2011; our vision is that hiring will pick up substantially in the first 5 months of 2011. We have seen companies dropping the ball, missing orders, and losing customers because they are understaffed. Product launches are the largest area that we have seen the lack of employees adversely affect the overall top and bottom line. The outlook for engineers with product launch and program management experience will increase exponentially in 2011.
These are my thoughts and I welcome any discussion.
